Laser for Spider Veins

At the Sanctuary Spa of Saratoga Springs we use the laser therapy, Vidirdis Derma to treat telangiectasia, rosacea, port wine stains, cherry angiomas and spider veins. 

The laser beamharmlessly penetrates the skin surface, delievers its energy to the vessel and coagulates it.  This is called photocoagulation.  The treatment lasts from 15 - 20 min. 

The number of treatments will vary depending on the individual. Multiple treatments will be necessary for some and it make take up to 3-6 treatments to achieve optimal results depending on the severity of the issue at hand. However, for some only one treatment is nessecary.

Makeup may be applied after the treatment and sun block should as always be worn with this treatment.  

Possible side effects:
Brusing ralrley occurs, if so, it usually clears up in 4-8 days.  If there is a purple bruise there may ocassionally be a brown stain that usually will resolve within a month.   Since every patient is an individual we cannot guarantee that you will respond the way others will.  Pain is tolerable during the treatment, it is often referred to as a buring sensation.  There is always the possiblity of developing a scab or blister, disappearing within a few days. Very rarely do these blisters or scabs may develop into transient or permanent discoloration of the skin. Swelling may occur imediatley after the treatment due to the sensitivity of the area but it is temporary and will go down throughout the duration of the day.

*The laser provides progressive results. It is proven effective for erthrosis (mild or severe reddening of the skin), telangiectasia (tiny, visible spider veins), cherry angioma (small, smooth, cherry-red bumps on skin), spider angioma (small, raised red bumps with broken blood vessels radiating outward), solar lentigines (also know as sun spots), and leg veins.
