Am I a Good Candidate for Laser Hair Removal?

Although laser hair removal is safe for most skin types and hair colors, there are some people that may benefit more than others. The best candidates tend to be those with dark, course hair and light skin. Patients with darker skin will still benefit from the treatment, but to a lesser extent. Other criteria that may make you an unsuitable candidate for laser hair removal include:

• Light Blond, gray or red hair
• Skin disorders, such as psoriasis, cystic acne and dermatitis
• If you're taking Retin-A, Accutane or select other medications
• Pregnancy
• Anyone with a pacemaker or metal screws in the treatment area
• Tanned patients must let tan fade before treatment

Pre and Post Procedure for Laser Hair Removal: 

The skin should be shaved prior to the laser treatment and make-up should be removed. No plucking or waxing 2 weeks prior or during treatment. Treatment time will vary depending on the area being treated.  The practitioner must be informed of any ongoing medical therapy, and or recent illness, latent/ active skin condition ex. herpes, exema, psoriasis, keloids, reoccurring illness or any prior surgery.  No treatment will be preformed if the skin is infected or wounded. 

We recommend that you use our Medical Grade SPF 60 manufactured by Neova Procyte during the duration of treatments to help protect the skin from any solar exposure.
